Refund Policy
Last updated: 28 August 2026
Plain-language summary: Every paid plan starts with a 30-day free trial, so you can try the whole platform before you are charged anything. If your first charge after the trial turns out to be a mistake, tell us within 14 days and we refund it in full. After that, cancelling stops future charges but does not refund time you have already had. If we charged you in error, we always refund it. Email support@mykahal.com.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers the subscription fees you pay to us for Kahal itself — the Solo and Pro Unlimited plans described on the pricing page. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
It does not cover money your members pay you through Kahal for passes, classes, or space bookings. Those payments run through your own payment provider and never through us; see section 8.
2. The free trial comes first
Both paid plans begin with a 30-day free trial. We collect a payment method to start the trial, but nothing is charged during it. Your first charge only happens when the trial ends.
If you decide Kahal is not for you, cancel or delete your organization before the trial ends and no charge is ever made. This is the intended way to evaluate Kahal, and it is why the rest of this policy is narrow: you get the whole product, free, for a month, before any money changes hands.
3. Your first charge: 14 days to change your mind
If the trial ends, you are charged for the first billing period, and you then realise within 14 days of that charge that you do not want to continue, email us and we will refund that first charge in full and close the subscription. This applies to monthly and annual plans alike, and it is in addition to any statutory right you may have under section 6.
This window applies to the first charge on a subscription. Renewals after it are covered by section 5.
4. When we refund
Beyond the first-charge window above, we refund in these situations, whatever the timing:
- A duplicate or double charge — refunded in full.
- A charge taken after you cancelled, or after the date your cancellation should have taken effect — refunded in full.
- A charge at the wrong amount or on the wrong plan — we refund the difference, or the whole charge and re-bill correctly, whichever is right.
- A charge for a period in which Kahal was substantially unavailable because of a failure on our side — refunded pro rata for the affected period.
- A charge you did not authorise — contact us immediately; we refund and investigate.
5. When we do not refund
- Time already elapsed. Cancelling a monthly plan mid-cycle keeps your access until the end of the period you paid for; we do not refund partial months.
- The unused part of an annual plan. Outside the first-charge window in section 3, cancelling an annual plan stops the next renewal but does not refund the remainder of the current year.
- Periods your organization was frozen. Freezing pauses day-to-day use and stops future billing, but does not refund a period already paid for. (Freezing before a charge is due prevents that charge entirely — that is what it is for.)
- Not getting round to using it. A subscription you paid for and did not use is not by itself a ground for a refund.
- Accounts we terminated for a material breach of the Terms of Service.
Cancelling is always available to you from your settings, and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Nothing about cancelling requires you to contact us first.
6. Your rights under consumer law
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have by law, and where the law gives you more than this policy does, the law wins.
- Organizations in Israel may have cancellation and refund rights under the Israeli Consumer Protection Law, 1981, and the regulations under it, where those apply to the transaction.
- Organizations outside Israel are billed by Paddle.com Market Ltd as merchant of record, and Paddle is the seller for that transaction. Consumers in the EU, the UK, and other jurisdictions with equivalent rules may have a statutory cancellation ("cooling-off") right, and Paddle's own buyer terms apply to the purchase alongside this policy. Where Paddle's terms give you a broader right to a refund than this policy, that broader right applies.
7. How to request a refund
Email support@mykahal.com from the address on the account, and tell us which charge you mean and why. That is the whole process — there is no form.
If your organization is billed through Paddle, you can also request the refund directly from Paddle using the link on your Paddle invoice or receipt, or through paddle.net. Either route works; write to us and we will raise it with Paddle for you.
How long it takes: we respond to refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method — by us through Sumit for organizations in Israel, and by Paddle for organizations outside it. Once issued, the money typically appears within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
8. Payments your members make to you
When a member buys a pass, pays for a class, or books a space in your Kahal organization, that money goes to you, through your own payment provider — Sumit or HYP (היפ) in Israel, Stripe elsewhere. Kahal takes no cut of it and never holds it.
Refunds for those payments are therefore a matter between the member and the organization, on whatever terms the organization sets. Kahal gives organization admins a refund tool that reverses the charge through the organization's own provider, and emails the member a confirmation. If you are a member looking for a refund, contact your community center or instructor directly — we cannot issue it for them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes are announced by email or by a notice on the platform at least 14 days before they take effect, and the change never applies retroactively to a charge already made. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
