About Kahal
Software for running a community center or a class-based business.
In one line: Kahal (קהל) replaces the spreadsheet, the WhatsApp group and the manual receipt with one place to run bookings, classes, members, passes, check-in and payments. It is built and operated by AmihaiTech, a sole proprietorship in Israel.
What Kahal is
Kahal is a hosted platform for organisations whose product is time in a room: a community center with a dozen spaces and forty weekly classes, a studio with three instructors, or one independent teacher moving between rented rooms. It handles the parts of that job that are administrative rather than teaching — publishing a schedule, taking a booking, selling and tracking a pass, checking a person in, and getting paid.
Each organisation gets its own subdomain (your-name.mykahal.com), its own branding, and its own data. Members sign in without a password, by magic link or Google. Nothing is shared between organisations.
Who it is for
- Independent instructors — yoga, pilates, music, art, martial arts, personal training, private tutoring. One person, their own booking page, their own students, receipts issued in their own name.
- Studios and small schools — a handful of instructors sharing a space and a schedule, where double-booking a room is the recurring problem.
- Community centers, kibbutzim and moshavim (מתנ"סים) — many spaces, many instructors, many programmes, and an office that needs to see all of it at once.
Who builds it
Kahal is built by AmihaiTech, the practice of Amihai Bouskila, a sole proprietorship registered in Israel. There is no venture funding and no support queue behind a chatbot: the person who writes the code answers the email. That is a deliberate trade — the product moves in small, frequent releases, and a bug reported in the morning is often fixed the same week.
The company is registered as Osek Patur (an Israeli VAT-exempt sole proprietor), which is why Kahal's own subscription fees carry no VAT line.
Where Kahal works, honestly
Bookings, classes, members, passes and QR check-in work anywhere in the world, in English or Hebrew (with full right-to-left support).
Online payment collection is more limited, and we would rather say so than let you find out after signing up. Israeli organisations collect member payments through their own Sumit or HYP account, with tax invoices and receipts (חשבונית / קבלה) issued automatically in the organisation's name. Organisations outside Israel connect their own Stripe account. Kahal takes no platform fee on payments in either case.
How the product is run
- Data stays in the EU. Primary infrastructure is European; see the Privacy Policy for sub-processors and transfer bases.
- No advertising trackers. Product analytics only, with client IPs discarded, and no cross-site tracking of any kind.
- Accessibility is ongoing work. Kahal targets Israeli Standard 5568 (WCAG 2.0 AA); open gaps are listed on the Accessibility Statement rather than hidden.
- You can leave. Export your organisation's data or delete the account from within the product, without asking us.
